Where do I park at Cornell?
Really, parking at Cornell is hard, so if you see a spot, take it! We don't get any special parking area or anything like that. I wish we did!
So, that said, carpooling is encouraged, and will probably make many lives easier. -
How much time should I allow for driving and parking between the hotel and the campus?
To be safe, you should allow ~30 minutes to travel. The total distance is about 20 miles.

Exactly where on campus is your ceremony going to take place?
The easiest way to explain this is with a map. The ceremony will be taking place between King Chapel and Bowman-Carter Hall. It should appear on the map as a purple camera.
-
What time is the ceremony?
3:00 PM
-
What time is the reception?
Doors open for the reception at 6:00 PM. Dinner will be served at 7:00 PM. The party will go until midnight or everyone leaves.
-
Will you have maps at the ceremony for anyone who didn't come from the Crown Plaza and forgot to google and print directions before they came to the ceremony?
Yes, yes we will.
-
How fancified is this here weddin'? Formal or casual attire or somewhere in between?
Carly and I are formal. As is the wedding party. As for everyone else, we're just happy you're coming. We prefer that you look presentable (and perhaps even nice), but so long as you are legally clad we don't care much beyond.

Where should I stay?
Cedar Rapids has many places to stay. Carly and I have a block of rooms reserved at the Cedar Rapids Crowne Plaza. Using the group code 'ASW' you will be given the discounted rate for Friday and/or Saturday nights. The discounted rate is $89.
For other places to stay in Cedar Rapids, check here.

Has Cedar Rapids recovered from the flooding so all the tourist sites are up and running? Is there a single site to check the current status of recovery?
Cedar Rapids is still in the process of recovering from the floods and likely will be for some time yet. To the best of my knowledge, there is, unfortunately, no single site to determine what is up and running and what isn't. The best way to find out such things would be to contact the Cedar Rapids Visitors Bureau.
A fairly complete list of relocated businesses is available, but likely does not include most tourist attractions.

The Czech Museum sounds really interesting and their website does not say anything about them being closed due to the flooding. Does that mean they have reopened? I thought they were 3/4 under water!
As best as I can tell, the Museum itself is still closed. They were pretty much under water during the flood, and cleaning up and rebuilding after that is proving to be far more than a 4 month project. The museum is still staying very active in the community and is even hosting events, lectures and other exciting things elsewhere in the city. There is a lot of great information on these events on their website: http://www.ncsml.org

I'd really like to see where you live. Can you include your address and directions to your apartment complex too?
I would rather not as this is the internet and all sorts of crazy things are possible. However, if you still have the envelope the invitation came in, you can find our address on the back. In addition, those interested can ask us directly and we will be happy to share.
Crowne Plaza Information
-
Are there in and out privileges with the parking that is costing $6 a day at the Crown Plaza-Five Seasons?
The parking includes unlimited in/out privileges throughout the day.
-
I tried to book a room and the Crowne Plaza tells me that all the rooms for your wedding are booked, so I have to pay $129 a night. What do I do!?
I asked them about this, and this is what Melissa (our nifty even coordinator) said:
"Just make sure that when your guests call (319) 363-8161 that they ask for the Sales Department. The only way they can get the $89 price is by making a room reservation with Tim, Matthew, Mary or Melissa."
-
What time is guest checkout at the Crowne Plaza?
Guest checkout is at noon.
-
Are connecting rooms available at the Crowne Plaza?
A limited number of connecting rooms are available. If you want two connecting rooms, please let us know as soon as humanly possible (per the hotel's request of us)! Or, possibly even better, when you make your reservation (ASAP!) you can request connecting rooms.
Hi guys. How fancified is this here weddin’? Formal or casual attire or somewhere in between?
Question added and answered.
Brian,
Us hicks with dail-up need help. It’s faster to e-mail you than wait to get info off the computer. I would appreciate it if you would e-mail me directions from the hotel to Cornell College.
Thanks
